Today, Prime Minister Dr. Ngirente met with Lt. Gen. Kamel Alwazir, Minister of Transport of Egypt and his delegation.
The discussions centered around strengthening cooperation between Egypt and Rwanda.
Egypt and Rwanda enjoy long-standing bilateral relations dating in the 1970s, with the first Joint Permanent Commission established in 1989. Rwanda is represented by the Embassy in Cairo, while Egypt also has an embassy in Kigali.
Both countries are members of the COMESA, NEPAD INITIATIVE, the AFRICAN UNION, and the NILE BASIN INITIATIVE. (End)
