Kigali: On February 07, 2020, the Executive committee of Rwanda Football Federation held a meeting in order to decide over the pullout of Rayon sports in UBUTWARI 2020 TOURNAMENT.
Basing on FERWAFA Statutes in its article 12 which states that ’’The violation of obligations by a member leads to sanctions provided for in the FERWAFA Regulations’’.
The executive committee found that Rayon sports has breached the following obligations as a member of FERWAFA:
–to fully observe the Statutes, regulations, directives and decisions of the Federation, CAF, FIFA, and to make sure these are also respected by its members
– to take part in competitions and other sports activities organized by the Federation;
Basing on the article 60 of FERWAFA Competitions regulations, The following decisions were taken by the FERWAFA Executive committee in relation to Rayon Sports conduct:
- Rayon Sports have been banned from participating in 2021 UBUTWARI Tournament
- Rayon Sports have been ordered to pay a fine of 300,000 Rwf
- Rayon sports have been banned from organizing or taking part in national or international friendly matches for a period of 12 months;
The above decisions have been communicated to the club and they take immediate effect. (Fin)
