Rwanda has secured US$ 15 million for the rehabilitation of 22 km Rambura-Nyange road from Abu Dhabi Fund for Development. This road is a section of the 61.15 kilometers Rubengera-Muhanga road connecting the Southern and the Western provinces.

The Rwandan government was represented by his Ambassador in Abu Dhabi, Emmanuel Hategeka, during the signing ceremony.

“We are happy to announce that we have signed a loan agreement with the Rwandan government valued at AED 55 million to support financing of the Rubigera Mohanga road development project. We are aiming to help advance the Rwandan Vision 2050 and contribute to the ongoing national social and economic transformation strategy designed to improve quality of life for all Rwandans”, said Abu Dhabi Fund for Development via Tweeter.

The road is expected to support transport, agriculture, and tourism sectors to enhance economic and social development by raising the efficient transportation between cities, enhance traffic safety and improve the population’s access to various Government services.

The construction of Rambura-Nyange road and completion of Rubengera-Muhanga road will promote trade, increase mobility and reduce transport costs by facilitating regional mobility of both goods and people. (End)
