Rwanda, Namibia sign a General Cooperation Agreement

Rwanda Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Dr. Vincent Biruta met with Jenelly Matundu, Namibia Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, on the sidelines of the 44th Ordinary Session of the African Union Executive Council. 

The two Ministers discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries and signed a General Cooperation Agreement between Rwanda and Namibia. 

This Agreement will foster trade, economic, and knowledge-sharing cooperation between both countries and increase opportunities for their people. 

Following the signature of the General Cooperation Agreement, the bilateral relations and exchanges are expected to flourish.

For Namibia, the southern African nation with 2.7million, Rwanda also enjoys bilateral cooperation in the areas of security and building Police forces. 

The two countries’ Police institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding in November 2015. (End).
